If your business plans go bad, you can declare bankruptcy and start all over again. If you're stuck in a dead end job, you can go to night school and re‑train yourself. If you're overweight and prematurely grey at 30, you can start a sensible diet and exercise plan.

A poor choice of marriage partner, however, can really throw you. Unlike many other areas of life, where you can learn and grow from your foolish blunders, a bad marriage can slice a big chunk out of your soul.

People with sharp judgment in other areas often crash onto the rocks where love relationships are concerned. Is it love, is it lust, is it loneliness and need? Are you secretly following the agenda of a parent? Are you trying to prove something? Marriage is an extremely complicated area of life.
